Building a Solid Foundation

“The surest foundation in the world is the wisdom of God’s word” - Wesleyne

Matthew 7:24 to 25:

Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won't collapse because it is built on bedrock.

These verses emphasize the importance of not only hearing the teachings of Jesus but also putting them into practice. It is not enough to simply have knowledge or hear the words of Jesus; true wisdom lies in applying His teachings to our lives. Just as a wise man builds his house on a solid foundation, those who build their lives on the rock of Jesus' teachings will stand firm even when faced with life's challenges. The imagery of rain, rising streams, and strong winds symbolizes the trials and difficulties that we encounter in life.

Storms will inevitably come our way, but it is the foundation upon which we build our lives that determines our ability to withstand them. By following Jesus' teachings and aligning our lives with His principles, we establish a firm foundation that can withstand the storms of life. Today, you will be reminded to prioritize not only hearing the words of Jesus but also actively living them out, so that you may be rooted in faith and experience the stability and resilience that comes from a life built on the rock.
