You know that thing that God has given you that throughout your life people have talked about you for, have mocked you for, have made you feel small?
That thing, that is a place where God has some amazing work for you. For me, that thing is my gift of gab. When I was a child in elementary school, the kids used to make fun of me and they would say, Wesleyne, you speak so properly. Wesleyne, why are you always answering questions? And then I would get in trouble.
from my teachers because I like to talk. And so I was a student who might be talking, but I'd be explaining something to my classmate that didn't get it. I wasn't just talking to talk. And then throughout my first marriage, my ex -husband used to always minimize my words. He would want to quiet my voice. He was uncomfortable.
with me speaking and talking and sharing. And he would often tell me, your words aren't good. People would tell me outside, friends or people I was working with, how comforting my voice is, how kind my words were. And he would say, your voice isn't comforting, your voice is annoying. You're not a kind person. You are, the things that you're saying.
don't help anyone and so it will quiet my voice. It would make me not want to speak. It would make me unsure of myself. It would make me not confident. And now many years later, I am in a place where my voice, the voice that you hear, it comforts hundreds and thousands of people across the world just hearing me encouraging them and praying for
Wesleyne (:My voice, this voice that you hear is what pays the bills of my household because I earn my living training people and speaking to people and helping them become better leaders, better humans, better salespeople, better business owners. My voice, the thing that for years, for decades, the enemy tried to take away from me.
tried to make me feel that it was not enough. It was because of the good work that God had in store for me. That eight -year -old Wesleyan didn't know. That 30 -year -old Wesleyan didn't know. But now I know that this gift that God has given me, this gift that he planted in me before I was formed in my mother's womb, this
is what I use to help people and to heal people. In Genesis 37 verses 19, it says, here comes the dreamer, they said to each other. They were talking about Joseph and his brothers were mocking him for dreaming. And then he was sold into slavery. And once he was sold into slavery, he became
a servant and he was highly favored. Then he was thrown into jail for something that he didn't even do. Someone lied on him and he was sold into, he was put into jail and in jail he was able to interpret dreams for his fellow inmates and those dreams came true and he asked the only thing in return, don't forget about me.
Don't forget about me when you get out. But they forgot about him. And so he stayed in prison, in jail. And then when Potiphar was having, when Potiphar was having, ooh, back that up. Don't go back to the Potiphar, because I can't remember if that's his name. So a few years later,
Wesleyne (:the same people who he helped get out of jail when their master, when the person they worked for was having dreams and no one could discern them, then they remembered Joseph. Then they said, we know someone who can interpret your dreams. And he was released from prison. And after that, the dreams that he predicted were to come true came true.
And the same brothers that sold him into slavery, that put him in jail, were the same brothers that came and needed his helping hand. They needed him when the land was, when there was a famine in the land, they needed to be rescued by him. So the same thing many, many years ago that they mocked him for was the same thing that allowed him to help his brothers.
So remember the thing that thing that people mock you for the thing that you feel you must quiet the thing inside you that God has given you as your gift. Don't let the enemy steal it. Don't let the enemy.
Take it away from you. Keep using your gift. Every single day I use my gift for good. And every single week I hear from people how much my gift, the thing that the enemy from a little age, eight years old, over 30 years ago, the enemy was trying to quiet my gift, to take it away.
But I persevered and I kept going and I never let him quiet my voice because the people's lives that I have impacted, the people's lives I have impacted are not only impacting them, they are impacting their family. They are breaking generational curses. They are doing the things that the enemy wanted to keep them in bondage for.
