God Can Use You Too
“God delights in those who are willing to be used by Him” - Wesleyne
Judges 4:9:
“Very well,” she replied, “I will go with you. But you will receive no honor in this venture, for the LORD’s victory over Sisera will be at the hands of a woman.” So Deborah went with Barak to Kedesh.“Very well,” she replied, “I will go with you. But you will receive no honor in this venture, for the LORD’s victory over Sisera will be at the hands of a woman.” So Deborah went with Barak to Kedesh.
This verse offers a powerful encouragement especially if you are a single, divorced, or widowed daughter of God. Prophetess Deborah’s statement reveals an important truth: God can use anyone, regardless of their gender or marital status, to accomplish great things. Deborah was a married woman and a prophetess, but the person who ultimately defeated Sisera was Jael, a single woman.
Today, you will be reminded that your worth and usefulness to God are not determined by your relationship status. If you’re single, divorced, or widowed, you may sometimes feel as if you are not living up to societal expectations or fulfilling your potential, but this passage shows that God has a plan and a purpose for each person's life, regardless of their marital status. Jael was able to accomplish a great feat for God precisely because she was not limited by societal expectations or obligations. As such, you can take heart in the fact that you too have a vital role to play in God's kingdom and that your singleness or divorce does not diminish your worth or your ability to serve God faithfully.
