I received this lovely gift in the mail from someone and on it it says, tomorrow's opportunity string on the hinges of today's obedience. And so it's a little placard that I have sitting in front of me in my prayer room. And as I was looking at it this morning and really taking those words in, the word that stood out to me was obedience.

Today's obedience. Obedience is hard for us. It's hard for us to hear what God is telling us to do and actually obey. Hear what God is asking us to do and actually do it.

Oftentimes God will give us instructions. He will give us signs. He will give us all kinds of things and we brush them off. We push them away. We say, I can do it tomorrow. I can do that next week. But how is God calling you to be obedient today in this moment when I think back over some of the things that.

God has called me to walk in obedience of, he's called me to walk in obedience to continue recording this podcast because sometimes I get weary. Sometimes I say, well, is it really worth it? Are there that many people that are listening to this podcast? Am I impacting them? And,

In those moments when I get weary.

God gives me a sign, he gives me something. This past week as I was looking at the podcast analytics, I saw that in just the past month, there was 141 downloads in this one small city in California. So over 30 days, somebody listened to this 140,

one time. And what that tells me is there's a person out there that I don't know that I may never know that needed to hear some encouraging words and God led them to this podcast. So if I would not have been walking in obedience and continuing to

Record this podcast continue to do the thing that God has called me to do the opportunity of tomorrow the opportunity to bless somebody the opportunity to encourage somebody would not have been there

What is the thing that you need to do in obedience? And I will say obedience is typically difficult. Obedience is hard. I often say you typically know that God is calling you to do something when you are very adamantly against it. You're like, nope, that sounds hard. Nope. I don't want to call that person. Nope. I don't want to go there. Nope. I don't want to say that.

Many times that's God. It's not always God, but many times if you have been praying for an opportunity, if you've been praying for an open door, that just hit me. There's something that I've been praying for. And as I share this with you, I'm realizing that I have to walk in obedience if I want that opportunity to come to fruition. So today I'm going to...

Wesleyne (:

pray with you and for you that you walk in obedience so God can open up those doors of opportunities, those windows of opportunities. Let us pray. Dear Heavenly Father, we love you so much and we praise you. And Lord, as we grapple with being obedient to the things that you are putting on our hearts, on our minds, and our souls, Lord.

remind us that that tug of war we feel, that tug of war we feel is because obedience is often hard. If obedience was easy, everyone would be doing it. So Lord, I pray that we are able to push through, to ask you for that ultimate guidance, to ensure that the walk that we're taking, the people that we're speaking to, the things that we're doing are all for your glory.

And Lord, we ask as we continue to walk in obedience, you continue to open up the doors, the windows, the avenues of opportunity for us. Lord, we know that tomorrow's opportunity swings on the hinges of today's obedience. And so we can swing the hinge forward or we can swing that hinge backwards. But Lord, we are walking in obedience. And so,

We can walk through the door to swing the hinges to open up tomorrow's opportunities. Lord, we love you so much. In your son Jesus' name we pray, amen.
