He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalms 147 verses 3.

How many of you have a broken heart today? How many of you feel like your heart is not just broken, but it's been taken and stomped on and thrown away and discarded? Your heart may feel like it's in a million different pieces and it may feel like it's in so many pieces that it can't be put back together.

It's like a glass jar that has been thrown on the ground and shattered.

life, the enemy, sin, people, our own actions. All of those things cause our hearts to be broken. And in the time when our hearts feel broken and we feel like we're in despair, this text tells us that God, God binds up.

the broken hearted.

Wesleyne (:

He binds up our wounds. So every single crack, every single...

thing that is broken within us.

One by one, God is binding up our wounds. And what does it mean to bind up our wounds? If we think about a piece of glass that has been shattered and it's on the floor in so many different pieces. If we were to look down and try to put it back together to bind it up, we couldn't because there's so many fragments.

There's so many things have been broken, but with our broken heart, with our wounds, God knows exactly which pieces to reconnect and not just which pieces, but in which order things need to happen. So let's say our heart has been shattered because somebody has hurt us deep to the core. He's gonna start with

allowing us to not cry as much. He's going to allow us to. He's going to allow us to.

have moments where we're able to write out our feelings and our thoughts. Then he's gonna allow us to have moments where if we've been locked in the bedroom unable to get up, we can get up and we can wash our face. And then he's gonna help us on our next step and our next step and our next step until we're

in the place where that particular wound feels bound up, feels healed. But just like those shattered pieces of glass are all over the floor, when you go through deep pain and despair, that's how your heart is. There are lots of pieces and they're all over. And there's not a human, there's not a substance, there's not a thing that you can

Physically do to fix it better than God Give him your burdens. Give him your worries Say Lord, I give the situation to you. I give my heart to you. I give my body to you I give it all to you and I am sad I am down I am hurting

And Lord I'm asking you to bind up my wounds. I'm asking you to heal me in a way that is more than I can heal on myself. Lord I'm a sinner in need of a savior. Lord I am your child. So bind up these wounds. Dry up these tears.

Help me heal, Lord. I love you so much. In your son Jesus' name, I pray, amen. A simple prayer like that. Don't use my words, don't use my phrases. Use the things that God needs to hear from you. Pray to him. Ask him to bind up your wounds. And if that is the only prayer,

that you have. Those are the only words that you can say. Bind up my wounds Lord, heal my broken heart. He is listening and he is working in you, through you and on your behalf.
