Surrendering to the Divine

True freedom comes from surrendering our burdens to God and trusting in His unwavering love - Wesleyne

Word of the Day

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)

Summary

In this heartfelt prayer, I want to share with you my desire to depend on God more and let go of any bitterness and anxiety I’m holding onto.

I realize how easy it is to get distracted by money and the influence of others, but I’m striving to focus on God’s promises instead.

I want to encourage all of you to release your worries and remember that our feelings are temporary.

Heavenly Father, today I ask that you open up my heart so that I can experience being free from depending on anyone more than I depend on you. Lord, my desire is to fully submit to you, to allow you to be my El Shaddai. Lord, I ask that you open my heart, that you remove any bitterness, any pain.

Any anxiety that I am currently carrying? Lord, remove it from me. Any false idols that I might be worshipping, At times, I find myself worshipping money or things or looking to the left or the right and idolizing other people, Lord. I ask you to remove that from me. Those are fleshly desires that are not of you.

Lord hold me, keep me, be with me today, Lord. Strengthen my heart, strengthen my mind, be a hedge of protection around me, Lord. And as I ask and as I work hard to deny my flesh and not allow the things that I feel to determine how I pray or how I show up, Lord remind me that my feelings are fleeting. My feelings come and go.

the things that you have told me, the things that you have purposed to me in my heart, those are the things that I should focus on. So in my coming and in my going, in my labor and in my leisure, Lord, I ask you to lift me up. Be with me today, Jesus. I love you. Amen.
