Embracing Hope and Patience in Life's Trials

“In moments of hope and affliction, our joy and patience are the keys that unlock God’s presence in our lives.”- Wesleyne

Word of the Day

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer - Romans 12:12

Summary

When we think about hope, we often focus on what we’re waiting for, like landing that new job or achieving a weight goal.

But what if we could find joy in that waiting? Instead of just longing for the future, let’s celebrate where we are right now and appreciate our current journey.

Now, I know being patient during tough times is challenging.

It’s tempting to rush through our pain and push for quick fixes.

But sometimes, real healing happens when we allow ourselves to sit with those feelings and work through them.

No matter what you're feeling(joy, sadness, or uncertainty), staying faithful in prayer is so important.

Even the shortest prayers can be powerful.

So, keep that connection with God strong, and trust that He’s with you in every season of life.

Takeaways

- When feeling defeated, remember that God is not a God of defeat.

- Negative emotions are tools of the enemy and should not be embraced.

- Letting go of control and surrendering to God allows Him to work in our lives.

- Fully surrendering to God means taking our hands off the situation and trusting Him completely.

- Continually release worries and anxieties to God, trusting that He will take care of them.

Hmm

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12 verses 12. Joyful in hope. Oftentimes when we hear the word hope, it's something that we're desiring, that we want. It's not something that we have. I hope I can lose 20 pounds by my anniversary. I hope I get this new job.

And what we see here in the text is God wants us to be joyful in those places of hope, in those times of hope.

So as you're waiting, as you're hoping, as you're desiring, have joy in it. Say, I hope I get that new job. And each and every day, I'm going to be happy and joyful in the current position that I have. I hope to lose 20 pounds, but I'm going to be joyful and love my body just as it is.

Be patient in affliction. Patient and affliction, those two words sound like they don't even belong in the same sentence. How can I be patient when I am in a place of affliction?

We often try to move faster than God. We often, when we're in a place of affliction or pain, we're just going fast, fast, quick, moving, going, striving. But if you sit in that pain and you work through your process and allow yourself to heal and not just run, but just heal, sometimes we have to sit in the pain.

and the heartache, and the affliction. Because in those moments of affliction and being patient and not trying to fix it on our own, we allow God to show up at work and be faithful in prayer.

Faithfully pray pray without ceasing When you are in the moments of hope or in affliction You should be praying whether you have joy or sadness or despair Continue to pray pray when it's hard pray when you don't want to pray when you have received a blessing pray pray pray be

faithful in your prayers and sometimes a prayer can be like, help me.

Wesleyne (:

In your son's name, amen. Because that's all you have. And that's okay. There's no prayer too short. There's no prayer too long. God isn't judging whether you're crying or laughing or speaking English or Spanish or another language. He just wants you to be faithful in prayer. So be joyful in your hope. Have joy as you hope for those things. Be patient in your afflictions.

Don't try to rush the healing process and faithfully pray.
